Shadows f. Jimmy Davis (Accapella - Radio version) (90bpm)

from Shadows f. Jimmy Davis by Delegates of Rhyme

about

"Shadows" is the debut full single release from The Delegates Of Rhyme featuring the SBTV supported and Ed Sheeran collaborator Jimmy Davis. Shadows tells the tale of a World of darkness, where wrong doings are the only way to survive, and morals are left at the door. The daily tasks weigh heavy on your soul like the ever growing shadows trailing behind your disheveled spirit.

Jimmy Davis and Donnie Numeric are your narrators for this journey into the dark land of the "Shadows". A dusty, Boom Bap and New York Jazz inspired soundscape sets the scene for one of the stand out tracks from The Delegates Of Rhyme's debut project entitled "Assemblage".
The full version of this track was released only to the group's Facebook fans in early April 2013, and now shows just a snippet of Donnie's First verse, a tiny section of the moody introduction, and just a brief glimpse into the hook.

lyrics

DONNIE NUMERIC - VERSE 1
My thoughts cascade,
And enslave my paper,
With an ingrained ink stain,
I'm out my cellar,
You can call that the underground,
This poisonous weather,
Has got the shadows of the night time,
Disturbing heaven,
Sadistic, animalistic,
With acts to begin with,
Was founded by the government,
By degrading the women,
So babies are disturbed,
And you think this is vulgar,
You should read classified cases,
Of MK ultra,
They got you loving the things,
You need to get over,
Cause life's being recorded,
From angels on shoulders,
Satanic posters,
Connotation subliminal,
So you end up buying things,
Your not really into,
Pistols over counters,
A young mans dream,
Of having more power,
By the age of 18,
Squeeze and release,
Thin line of life to deceased,
The beast don't hunt,
Cause we cook it,
It's feast.

HOOK / CHORUS
Shadows dance in the sun,
They get so excited,
When the nighttime comes,
They all get invited,
From the road to the slums,
The shadows get united,
It's the shadows,
It's the shadows
x2

VERSE 2 - JIMMY DAVIS
Yo
The city is a Hitchcock setting
Shadows half stepping on the streets
where their kids stopped getting
love from way back
All you see is grey flats
Grey clouds
The city they tell me hip hop is proper dead in,
There's no telling where we're heading
Every kid and his bredrin,
Wanna be out on the street selling,
This dwelling we reside in's a jungle,
Concrete, Urban,
Where it's a different kind of tree we're felling,
Hot heads control cold roads,
Mouth full of jewels,
24 carrot gold clothes,
In a hunt for ice,
Their soul froze,
Shadows dancing as the neighbourhood black hole grows,
Mind you don't get swallowed,
Mind your priceless shit doesn't get permanently borrowed,
Mind the shadow of life don't creep up,
while you're sitting praying that your social network has been followed.

HOOK / CHORUS
Shadows dance in the sun,
They get so excited,
When the nighttime comes,
They all get invited,
From the road to the slums,
The shadows get united,
It's the shadows,
It's the shadows
x2

DONNIE NUMERIC - 3RD VERSE
They spill onto the street,
just like shadow puppets,
with silhouettes of dumb dumbs,
guns and violence,
and you hear when they come come,
the police burn milage,
the shadows don't like it,
with lights from sirens,
radio tyrants,
vibrations to ear drums,
with specific frequency,
to trigger dreams assassination,
dark organisations,
funding corruption,
like Walt Disney ,
They warp quickly,
Conundrum,
They force dreams and whore screams,
Up in abundance,
The law leans ,
Where more peas,
Is guaranteed funding,
The poor dreams,
Of more queens,
Purple in substance,
But they talk greed,
Of more cream,
When cash is coming,
Pistols over counters,
A poor mans dream,
Of having more money,
Than he ever did see,
So the devil closes the latch,
Put a lease on your needs,
And you follow it to death,
Where the shadows proceeds,

HOOK / CHORUS
Shadows dance in the sun,
They get so excited,
When the nighttime comes,
They all get invited,
From the road to the slums,
The shadows get united,
It's the shadows,
It's the shadows
x2
